Microamp, a global leader in resilient 5G and 6G mmWave connectivity for real-time operations, has officially become a General Member of the OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation, effective from 1 November 2026. Microamp joins a premier open source collective dedicated to accelerating the deployment of disaggregated 5G and early 6G cellular architectures.
Hosted by the Linux Foundation and backed by the US FutureG Office alongside the National Spectrum Consortium, the OCUDU Ecosystem Foundation unites prominent telecommunications operators, silicon leaders, software innovators and esteemed academic and research organisations. The member roster features global industry leaders including AT&T, Verizon, Ericsson, Nokia, NVIDIA, AMD, Intel and SoftBank, among others.
Advancing Open Source RAN for 5G mmWave
The OCUDU initiative develops and validates an open source RAN stack engineered for next-generation networks. As open and disaggregated network models gain traction across private and public sectors, seamless alignment between open source software and specialized radio hardware becomes essential for market adoption.
Through membership in the foundation, Microamp brings dedicated mmWave engineering expertise to the ecosystem, expanding the reach of wideband radio solutions within the global Open Source RAN landscape. The initiative provides direct collaboration with Tier-1 operators, silicon vendors and advanced FutureG programmes under a unified framework.
Microamp also joins the foundation's Testing & Validation Working Group (TVWG), gaining direct participation in standardized multi-vendor test plans and global validation labs to evaluate interoperability, system stability and real-world deployment scenarios.
