WARSAW, Poland – 21 September 2026 – Microamp, a global leader in resilient 5G mmWave connectivity for real-time operations, and the Faculty of Electronics at the Military University of Technology (MUT), a premier academic and research institution based in Warsaw, Poland, have signed a cooperation agreement. The inaugural meeting for this joint initiative took place on 4 September 2026. One of the initial outcomes of this collaboration is the delivery of the Microamp 5G mmWave Starter Kit to the Faculty, which will serve advanced research and educational purposes.
Key representatives from Microamp attended the meeting, including Dr Marcin Góralczyk (Chief Technology Officer) and Adam Olesiński (Head of RAN Solutions). The Faculty of Electronics at MUT was represented by Col. Prof. Jan Kelner (Dean of the Faculty of Electronics), Lt. Col. Dr Jarosław Wojtuń (Deputy Director of the Institute of Communications Systems) and Dr Paweł Skokowski (Head of the Mobile Communications Systems Department) alongside staff members.
The delivered Microamp 5G mmWave Starter Kit is a comprehensive solution enabling the rapid deployment of a fully functional LDI/LPD mobile architecture. The Microamp mmWave wireless platform consists of radio access network elements, mmWave RAN software, a core network and user equipment. Operating in Standalone mode, the system is fully compliant with the 3GPP standard. The network supports n257, n258 and n261 bands across the 24.25-29.5 GHz frequency range, ensuring throughput exceeding 4 Gbps and latency below 5 ms.
The Microamp mmWave network will be extensively utilised in scientific and research activities conducted by the Faculty of Electronics staff, particularly in developing specialised publications and reports for international NATO working groups. Furthermore, the provided solution forms a foundation for joint research initiatives and projects. This Microamp mmWave system will also facilitate commercial scientific research, proactively addressing the current demands of the industrial market and the defence sector. Access to the complete 5G mmWave environment creates an opportunity to practically verify advanced communication scenarios essential for civil and military applications.
Within the academic framework, the Microamp 5G mmWave Starter Kit will support specialised training sessions and laboratory classes dedicated to the latest connectivity standards. The supplied mmWave wireless platform will allow students to acquire practical skills in configuring, deploying and testing 5G mmWave architectures. Access to this Microamp solution will enable the completion of diploma and design projects, including experimental research on wave propagation, network architecture optimisation and the integration of specialised end devices.
Establishing cooperation with the MUT Faculty of Electronics marks a vital step for Microamp in developing expertise within modern telecommunications. The provided mmWave system will enrich the laboratory facilities of the Faculty and integrate academic education with the practical application of modern 5G connectivity.
